It’s summer in the South, y’all<\/em>, and you know what that means… front porch sittin’ – sweet tea sippin’ – and plenty of groovin’ to live music! Things are really heating up down South this July (pun intended) with several big names swinging through to experience some southern hospitality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the top shows going on down South this month to help you score tickets for face value!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Phish – 7\/11-12 – Orion Amphitheater, Huntsville, AL<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Phish fans are excited to brush the tour dust off and hit the road again starting at this 8,000-person amphitheater. <\/span>Since it opened last May<\/strong>, jam band fans from all over have been raving about the Orion Amphitheater in Huntsville, AL.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alabama has become more welcoming to Phish fans since 1.0, so get ready for a raging lot, complete with grilled cheese with bacon in every bite.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phish – 7\/14-16 – Ameris Bank Amphitheater, Alpharetta, GA<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

It’s no secret that Phish loves playing in Alpharetta. Just look at how many legendary shows and moments have gone on here over the years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since their triumphant return in 2009, Phish has already played this Atlanta suburb <\/span>fourteen times<\/strong> with three more nights on the horizon. <\/span><\/p>\n

That includes the 4th of July show in 2010 with a tasty <\/span>Harpua > Killing in the Name > Harpua<\/a><\/strong> sandwich. Not to mention, 8\/5\/2018 when the band delighted fans who made it down to Georgia with a show that was bookended by an extra funky version of You Sexy Thing. <\/span><\/p>\n

There are a lot of fingers in the air for these shows, but there are also tickets popping up and plenty of trades up for grabs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Phish – 7\/18-19 – Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park, Wilmington, NC<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

There’s no rest for the weary on Phish tour, and the traveling circus rolls right along after one day off to Wilmington, North Carolina<\/strong>. For those of you following the band around, that s a 7-hour drive of 433 miles between venues<\/strong>, by the way.<\/span><\/p>\n

This appears to be the hottest ticket of the band’s Summer tour, and we re not just talking about the temperature. The riverfront amphitheater only fits 7,200 fans, making it the smallest venue of the Summer Tour<\/strong>. This stop for the band is their first time playing in Wilmington. If we know Phish, that means those fans are in for something special. <\/span><\/p>\n

You didn t really think we’d have a post about summer concerts in the South and leave out the reigning kings of the region, did you? Get ready for some Ribs & Whiskey because there s a Party at Your Mama s House in good ole Huntsville, Alabama with WSMFP<\/strong>!<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, we re pretty sure if you asked Open AI to give you a picture of an outdoor concert in the South in July, it would just be Widespread Panic in a swampy Alabama amphitheater. Spreadnecks from far and wide will rejoice and high-five as they holler. Ain’t life grand?! <\/span><\/p>\n

Billy Strings – 7\/13-15 – Koka Booth Amphitheatre – Cary, NC<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

It wouldn’t be summer in the South without a foot-stompin’ couple nights of bluegrass, and that’s exactly what you’ll get when BMFS rolls into Cary, North Carolina for another 3-night run<\/strong>. Billy and the boys just played a trio of shows here last summer, so you know they must like the place!<\/span><\/p>\n

Last year Billy Strings paused the show one night to ask local law enforcement to leave his fans the you-know-what alone. Hopefully, they take a chill pill this time around, sit back, and enjoy the show with the rest of us.<\/span><\/p>\n

These will be the first shows of the Billy Strings summer tour.<\/strong> Not surprisingly, it’s a hot ticket with all three nights sold out. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, though, so put that (digital) finger in the air and set your alerts on CoT! Whether you plan on hitting Phish in Wilmington or not, consider driving from the coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains to one of the best venues in the Southeast. <\/span><\/p>\n

Greensky Bluegrass are coming down to Asheville<\/strong> to throw a two-day party July 21 + 22, 2023 bringing North Carolina’s own Big Something<\/strong> to join them. Sit-ins are all but guaranteed as the worlds of jam and grass meet for an epic two nights under the stars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salvage Station in Asheville has both an outdoor and indoor stage and is set right on the French Broad River. It has several local food trucks and dozens of taps pouring local NC craft beer. It’s everything and more in a music venue that feels like home no matter where you come from.<\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to summer tours, it’s hard to top Dave Matthews Band<\/strong>. The road warriors are at it again with a coast-to-coast tour and the shows have been as hot as a late July evening in Georgia.<\/span><\/p>\n

DMB will be a well-oiled machine by the time they pull into Alpharetta. The fact that it s a Tuesday night doesn’t matter. There will be plenty of Dancing Nancies filling the amphitheater as it s their only show in the state. <\/span><\/p>\n

Those willing to travel for their DMB fix can catch the guys on the Gulf Coast in Alabama the following evening. Go ahead and make a day of it by strolling the Wharf, riding the Ferris wheel, and maybe playing a round of mini golf.<\/span><\/p>\n
