All Good announced a brand new festival in West Virginia in July - the 4848 Festival. Held at Snowshoe Mountain in Snowshoe, WV from July 11-13, fourteen acts will perform and attendees will have the option to enjoy resort-like accommodations within the Mountain Village. Headliners will feature two nights of Greensky Bluegrass and one night of Umphrey's McGee. Other acts on the bill include the Grammy winning Infamous Stringdusters, Lettuce, Turkuaz, The Marcus King Band, Railroad Earth, Billy Strings, Fruition, Rayland Baxter, Orgone, Raging Fyah, The Nth Power, Cris Jacobs Band, The Hip Abduction, Ghost of Paul Revere, Joshua Davis and Nathan Moore.
4848' is named after Snowshoe Mountain's elevation, the second highest point in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. With comfortable lodging among the grounds itself, a gorgeous view surrounding and comfortable temps to boot, this is one festival that will be smoking hot. Camping options are also available. For more information on tickets that are on sale now, as well as FAQ's about the festival itself, please visit their official website.
It's always awesome when a new festival comes around--not only for the excitement of the debut, but also to think about the possible beginning of an amazing tradition. Who knows, 20 years from now, 4848' could be a famous can't-miss weekend. 4848' sure is coming out of the gate strong with this lineup, including some of our very favorite acts here at CashorTrade. Greensky Bluegrass is just on a tear, with a monster tour showing no signs of stopping right through the summer. This spring they headline the Jackson Hole Rendezvous and Winter Wondergrass in Tahoe before cruising throughout the mountain west, then back east for their own Camp Greensky before headlining the legendary (and almost sold out) Telluride Bluegrass Festival. And that's before summer even starts! The lineup for these fests is too much to report here, but a few highlights: Billy Strings and Trampled By Turtles join at Winter Wondergrass, and the amazing Circles Around the Sun (Dead 50 set break project) and living legends Del and Dawg join for Camp Greensky.
Just before 4848' kicks off, Umphrey's McGee and Greensky appear at High Sierra Music Festival. After 4848', Billy Strings follows Greensky to The Peach in PA a couple weeks later. And between those? The classic Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival in NY's Catskill Mountains. They haven't announced their lineup yet, but we here at CashorTrade hope this crew keeps on jamming right through the Appalachians together. Will these similar tours lead to some on-stage collaborations? Please please please!
So you don't get dizzy keeping track of it (or shut out of tickets), CashorTrade is on it for you. Find face value tickets to all these bands at the links above, and keep up with insider band news in the Facebook fan groups we have set up for them: Greensky, Billy Strings, and Umphrey's.
