The line-up for the 15th anniversary of Aiken Bluegrass Festival was announced this morning. The festival, to be held May 10th and 11th in Aiken, South Carolina, will be headlined by Del McCoury Band and include sets by Billy Strings, Keller and the Keels and Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. The Larry Keel Experience will make their 14th appearance at the festival and the Artist-at-Large will be Zebulon Bowles. Other acts on the bill include Cris Jacobs Band, Lindsay Lou, Brad Parsons & Starbird, Kitchen Dwellers and Tenth Mountain Division, to name a few. Unique sets will feature Billy Strings Psychedelic Circus featuring Cris Jacobs Band and Terrapin Mountain performing a special "Old and In The Way" tribute set.
The festival began as a fundraiser for the local therapeutic horseback riding program, Star Riding. Founders Steve and Jeannie Groat carry on the tradition as this year's partnership is with Great Oak Therapeutic Riding. Aiken Bluegrass Festival holds true with its roots deep in traditional bluegrass yet keeps the music fresh with a modern spin to the genre as reflected in the line-up.
