Melvin Seals with Jerry Garcia Band, March 1 at Arts Riot, Burlington,VT

Since Melvin Seals picked Zach Nugent to be the lead guitarist of the JGB, they have been playing some pretty hot gigs. When you bring that energy back to Burlington, VT where Zach made his bones in the local music  scene with Dead Set and Cats Under The Stars, you know you are in for a doubly special show.

Taking the stage on March 1st at Arts Riot, an ample venue and restaurant in the South End Arts District, the JGB worked their magic for a very attentive crowd. After getting their jam into high gear with a the crowd pleasing Sugaree, they weaved a Beatles theme in and out of some of the more spiritual JGB standards. Zach's guitar and vocals fit the psychedelic soul sounds of Melvin's keys. Here Comes The Sun and Sisters and brothers were two great standouts of the night, reminding us to love one another and that spring was on the way, this show was definitely preaching the good news.
