Face Value includes the cost of the ticket, standard fees from the original retailer (not broker fees), and potential PayPal and shipping costs
You paid $30 for a ticket through a theatre's online portal, but in check out you had to pay an additional $5 in processing fees and $2 in shipping. The total on the receipt says $37. You want to make this transaction through Paypal and mail it to the recipient.
- Good: "Ticket for sale, $38.37 + shipping"
- Bad: "Ticket for sale, $37"
Fair Trade means that the trades of equal value.
If you have 5 lawn tickets ($30 each) and you seek only 1 hard to obtain floor ticket ($90) then a great offer is...
- Good: "3 for 1 trade and purchase my extras at Face Value."
- Bad: "I will trade you 5 lawn tickets for 1 floor."
You can not offer 2 for 1 trades. Only 2 for 1 plus cash difference. Giving away a ticket with no strings is a miracle. Adding an extra ticket to a trade makes it unfair. We used to allow such trades until we had members offer 4 and 6 tickets for 1 ticket. With everyone doing that it ruins the spirit of the site. If you have been flagged for a post requesting two tickets for the one ticket and not offering a cash difference your post will be subject for removal.
These details are generally useful to include in the title of your post. You can always add more information in the post description.
- Performer name, venue and/or date
- Quantity of tickets
- Seat section and/or row
- What you're looking for in return

This is commonly abbreviated as "ISO" (in search of). You will receive an email, text and notification within your CashorTrade inbox when a members that has the ticket you want contacts you.
CashorTrade does not limit the amount of tickets you can add to a post. You can add tickets for multiple events, festivals and performers. CashorTrade is super flexible.

We offer filters to sort tickets by:

We send email, text and or push notifications. Every time a member responds, commits, pays, ships or reviews an email is sent to your account's email address. The lister is required to commit first using the commit button found within the discussion. The replier should commit second.
After you commit, the other party will be alerted that they have 24 hours to commit back. You must wait for them to commit before moving on to the next step.
After you commit, the other party will be alerted that they have 24 hours to commit back. You must wait for them to commit before moving on to the next step. During that period, before the other party commits, you can un-commit without financial repercussions. One-sided commits are not solidified agreements.
If both parties have committed you must follow through regardless. We take commits very seriously and we reserve the right to ban a member and revoke membership for members who back out of committed trades.
If the lister (seller) uses PayPal to accept online transactions you can use PayPal to checkout. If you are selling a ticket and would like to use a credit card handling service then we recommend that you set up a PayPal account.
If you would like to meet in person to exchange cash or another creative trade for a ticket you can. If you are trading in-person we recommend making the trade prior to the day of the show. Our platform allows you to eliminate all of the risk factors of meeting pre-show and fool-proof your exchange.
Immediately after both parties have committed.
No. If the member has PayPal and their info in CashorTrade looks reputable please use the payment tab within the discussion.
We cannot provide support or protection in case something goes wrong for transactions made away from the CashorTrade site.
For the convenience of accepting credit cards PayPal charges the seller 2.9% + $0.30 cents per sale. You don't have to use PayPal, although, we recommend them because of their excellent dispute policy. You can accept cash or check. There are zero fees to use CashorTrade.
Yes. Always receive payment before shipping a ticket.
A payment can be pending for multiple different reasons. If you see that someone’s payment is pending, check the message thread and it tells you the reason at the top. The most common reason is that the buyer’s PayPal is not verified. Information our website and PayPal must be the same. The payment will show it has left the buyer’s PayPal but will not appear in the seller’s PayPal account until it clears. It usually changes from pending to sent pretty quickly and will post a separate message within the feed which tells the seller and buyer that the payment went through.
You can enter your Paypal email address in CashorTrade.org in three ways:
1) when making a post
2) when in the discussion there is a box above the reply tabs
3) in the settings tab of your profile
a) If the tickets are TicketMaster tickets and they offer the button to transfer them when viewing your orders, you will need the buyer's email. Simply enter it in and it will send them a fresh ticket with a new bar code. Your tickets will become invalid at this point.
b) If there is no ability to process a transfer, you may upload the PDF directly to the discussion in CashorTrade. All uploaded files are fully encrypted and the buyer will need to confirm their login info to download them. If you have forgotten your password visit: http://cashortrade.org/forgotpwd to reset your password.
Never. At the very least, mail the ticket(s) USPS Priority and obtain a tracking number. UPS and FedEx are best. Share the tracking number with the recipient.
We don't recommend it.
If you wait until you arrive, the market price on lot may be free, cheap, or inflated, causing uncertainty. The more time between the trade the more variables are bound to pop up. To avoid this issue make sure you trade before you get to the show. We have encountered these issues:
- Cell phones stop working
- People get lost
- People are late to the meeting spot
- Sellers may be tempted to sell their tickets to a higher bidder instead of waiting to meet up with you
- Sellers may be tempted to get rid of their tickets quickly instead of waiting to meet up with you
- Buyers may be tempted to buy a cheaper ticket if they see one
