For many, Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer. For Dave Matthews Band fans, it represents the biggest musical celebration of the year. As we gear up for DMB at The Gorge, let’s take a closer look at the annual Labor Dave Weekend and what’s in store for 2025.
A Time-Honored Tradition
Dave Matthews Band first played The Gorge Amphitheatre in the summer of 1996, and they’ve played there every year since aside from 2017 and 2020. They started doing 3-night Labor Day campouts in 2002, a legendary trio of shows that were released as The Gorge in 2004.
The first night this year will mark the band’s 77th appearance. Fans from all over the country – and many from abroad – make the pilgrimage to George, Washington for the Labor Dave Weekend festivities. This year the shows take place from August 29-31.

2025 Openers for DMB at The Gorge
Going to see DMB at The Gorge is basically like going to a music festival. It’s three nights of music and camping, with unique opening acts each night and lots of sit-ins.
For the 2025 edition, Dave is bringing along Southern Avenue and Kaleo on the 29th, Oskar & Julia and Bela Fleck & The Flecktones on the 30th, and Louis Cato and Goose on the 31st. Imagine the potential for collaborations with that lineup!
Goose fans are pumped to see the band make their first-ever appearance at this legendary venue in the same summer where they headlined Madison Square Garden. CashorTrade has been a proud partner of Goose for years and we’re excited for this milestone performance for the band!

Tips for Enjoying The Gorge
With three huge days of music, Labor Dave Weekend is a marathon, not a sprint! You’ll want to wear comfortable shoes for the walk between the campground and the venue and be prepared for a variety of weather.
As The Gorge is located in the high desert, it can get quite hot during the day and chilly at night. Hydration is happiness out here, so make sure you drink plenty of water to fuel you through a big night of dancing.
With three days, it’s great to make a trip down to Rattlesnake Cove to take a refreshing dip in the Columbia River. Make sure you check out the sunset terrace at least one night of the shows.
Most importantly when seeing DMB at The Gorge – celebrate we will, ’cause life is short but sweet for certain! It’s sure to be another magical weekend dancing under the stars with Dave Matthews Band. Safe travels, everyone!
