Earl Scruggs Music Festival is the place to be for bluegrass lovers over Labor Day weekend! Taking place from September 4-6 at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Mill Spring, NC, this festival honors the banjo legend Earl Scruggs just miles from his birthplace.
The lineup for 2026 features a mix of bluegrass, Americana, and roots music with The Avett Brothers, Greensky Bluegrass, The Del McCoury Band, Béla Fleck: My Bluegrass Heart, and much more. Earl Scruggs Music Festival also gives local students the chance to step on stage to pick, play, and move the sound forward.
Beyond the main stage, the music carries out into the campground where pickers gather to jam at sunrise. The fitting motto of Earl Scruggs Music Festival “The music is coming home” rings true.
