Seven Mile began as Seven Mile Music in 2013 when a piano major at the University of Michigan named Sam Saunders realized that there were huge cuts being made to the music programs in Detroit Public Schools.
The program was put in place to provide opportunities for extracurricular activities based in music education to students of Detroit. Since then, the program has expanded to include arts & coding education.
Seven Mile believes that music plays a key role in development, and that having the opportunity to creatively express oneself is essential to children of all ages. We couldn’t agree more!
That’s why we’ve partnered with Seven Mile and Denver based EDM artist GRiZ to give GRiZ’s fans an oppurtnity to support this essential service by donating the proceeds of ticket sales sold on CashorTrade.org for GRiZ’s sold-out, annual “GRiZMAS” run in Detroit.
GRiZ learned saxophone in his Detroit school as a young musician. Without access to music education in public schools, he wouldn’t be the success he is today. We’re thrilled to partner up for this wonderful cause, providing education to the youth of Detroit and keep tickets in the hands of fans for face value!
