I’m Brando. My brother Dusty and I love live music. What we don’t love is getting ripped off on tickets. The secondary ticket market is a mess.
For us, shows and festivals are life-changing moments. The secondary resale sites ruin that experience before it even begins. The lack of transparency, scalped prices, and outrageous fees were out of control, and no one was doing anything about it.
Going to a show shouldn’t mean taking out a second mortgage. Today’s model is all about inflating prices to the highest level possible and charging fees as high as 45%. Then you get your tickets from some random broker or scalper?
As web developers for over a decade at the time, by 2009 we finally had enough. We launched CashorTrade.org, the world’s first fair trade marketplace where real fans ethically buy, sell, and trade tickets at face value. Since then, over a million+ fans from 46 countries have come together to create the Face Value Movement. CashorTrade has over 5,000+ new members sign up each month, and a rockstar team of 30+ music loving employees. It’s become the only social network for tickets, and has been called the Airbnb of Tickets.
We are brothers from Vermont who go by the names Dusty and Brando. If you don’t know us by name, then you probably recognize our faces from the many years of shows.
Those small fun days of the fan newsletter are over, but the power of the community still exists. We are devoted to making this app a functional tool to help embrace the positive vibe that once existed in the early days.
